Last week, I had the chance to attend Samsung’s launch event for the new Galaxy A56 5G and Galaxy A36 5G — and let me tell you, it was every bit as exciting as you’d imagine. The energy in the room was infectious, and as I held these sleek devices in my hands, I could feel the innovation radiating from them. Samsung is truly making good on its promise of bringing AI for everyone, and I’m here to spill all the juicy details.
Awesome Intelligence at Your Fingertips
One of the standout features of the new Galaxy A series is the introduction of Awesome Intelligence — Samsung’s way of bringing powerful AI tools to more people. I got to try out Circle to Search, which lets you find anything on your screen by simply circling it. Imagine spotting a cute outfit on social media, circling it, and instantly finding where to buy it. Life-changing, right? Oh, and you can even identify songs playing nearby without switching apps.
Cameras That Capture Every Perfect Moment
Of course, as a content creator, I ran straight to the camera features. The Galaxy A56 5G comes with a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and the incredibly helpful Best Face feature. Ever taken a group pic where someone blinked or looked away? Best Face lets you combine the best expressions from a motion photo, so everyone looks flawless. And for night owls like me who love an evening snap, the Low Noise Mode on the selfie cam is a game changer for low-light photos.
Durability, Performance & Style
Beyond the snazzy camera and AI features, Samsung didn’t hold back on durability. Both devices have IP67 water and dust resistance and are protected with Corning® Glass. Plus, with up to 6 years of software updates, your phone will stay fresh long after the hype dies down. And can we talk about the color options? I’m personally obsessed with the Awesome Pink for the A56 5G and the Awesome Lavender for the A36 5G.
Price is Affordable because Awesome is for Everyone!
A56 5G = 256GB is Php25,990 | 128GB is Php23,990
A36 5G = 256GB is Php21,990 | 128GB is Php19,990
Final Thoughts: Should You Get One?
If you’re someone who loves capturing life’s moments, staying connected, and having a phone that can keep up with your hustle (and your clumsy hands), these devices are a solid pick. And the fact that Samsung is making high-end features more accessible with the A series? Chef’s kiss.
The Galaxy A56 5G and A36 5G will hit stores in the Philippines on March 17, 2025, so if you’re thinking of upgrading, mark your calendars. I know I’m already planning my next shoot with these beauties in hand.

Circle to Search will quickly recognize phone numbers, email addresses and URLs on the screen so users can take action with a single tap.
With the recent enhancements to Circle to Search, users can also instantly search the songs they hear without switching apps. Whether it’s a song playing on social media from their phone or music that’s playing from speakers near them, just long press the navigation bar to activate Circle to Search, then tap the music button to effortlessly identify the song name and artist

Whether it's an unexpected passerby or a distracting shadow, users can manually or automatically select objects to erase, achieving a cleaner, more polished final image with just a few taps. Moreover, Filters enables custom filter creation by extracting colors and styles from existing photos for users to apply for a unique and personalized effect depending on mood and taste. With these intelligent tools, users can refine and enhance their photos effortlessly, bringing a new level of creativity to every shot.
Built To Last With Upgraded Displays and Software Longevity
Now with up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and six years of security updates, the Galaxy A series reinforces its software longevity even more.
